Circular Reasoning
The Fallacy
A type of reasoning in which the proposition is supported by the premises, which is supported by the proposition.
Why it's wrong
This creates a logical circle where no useful information is being shared. It's often used when someone has a strong belief but cannot articulate the reasons for it.
Example
The CEO explained that he deserves a huge bonus because he is essential to the company. When asked why he is essential, he replied, 'Because I get a huge bonus.'
