Circular Reasoning

The Fallacy

A type of reasoning in which the proposition is supported by the premises, which is supported by the proposition.

Why it's wrong

This creates a logical circle where no useful information is being shared. It's often used when someone has a strong belief but cannot articulate the reasons for it.

Example

Pvt. Joe Bowers: You guys are gonna be so smart you'll be able to fix this, right? Upgrayedd: For sure! I'm gonna be rich! Pvt. Joe Bowers: Why? Upgrayedd: 'Cause I'm gonna have a lotta money!
