Comparing two things that are a tiny bit alike, and pretending they are alike in every way.

Why it's wrong

Apples and fire trucks are both red. But you can't eat a fire truck!

Example

Birds have wings and can fly. Airplanes have wings and can fly. So airplanes must lay giant metal eggs.
