Fallacy of Relative Privation
The Fallacy
Dismissing a complaint or argument by pointing out that there are more important problems in the world.
Why it's wrong
Often phrased as 'not as bad as,' this fallacy asserts that a problem is not worth addressing because worse problems exist. It erroneously assumes that caring about one issue precludes caring about others or that only the worst possible problems deserve attention.
Example
Why are you complaining about your broken leg when there are starving children in the world?
