Using the opinion of an authority figure or celebrity endorsement in place of an actual political argument.

The Explanation

While expert advice is valuable, a politician citing a famous person's support doesn't replace the need for sound policy reasoning.

Political Example

The candidate argued his economic plan was flawless simply because a famous pop star tweeted that it was 'the best plan ever.'
