Arguing political concepts based strictly on their historical origins rather than modern applications.
The Explanation
Political terminology evolves. Asserting that a modern ideology or party must behave exactly as it did centuries ago ignores historical realignments and changing societal norms.
Political Example
You cannot say that country is a democracy! The word comes from ancient Greek 'demokratia', and they didn't have representative republics back then, only direct voting by citizens.
