The Explanation
Extreme polarization often leads to dismissing good ideas simply because they came from 'the other side of the aisle,' rather than evaluating the idea on its merits.

The representative voted against the infrastructure bill, which she actually liked, purely because it was drafted by a member of the opposing party.
