Consultants often try to copy the strategy of the winning presidential candidate, ignoring that dozens of other candidates tried the exact same strategy and failed miserably in the primaries.
Political Example
The party decided to run only wealthy businessmen for office, pointing to the current successful billionaire President, but ignoring the hundreds of wealthy businessmen who lost their local races.
