The Fallacy Fallacy

The Definition

Presuming that because a political claim has been poorly argued, or a fallacy has been made, that the policy itself is necessarily wrong.

The Explanation

It is entirely possible for a politician to propose a good policy but justify it with terrible logic or fallacious arguments.

Political Example

The Mayor argued for fixing the potholes because 'aliens might trip on them.' His opponent correctly pointed out this was absurd, but then wrongly concluded that the potholes therefore didn't need fixing at all.
